Detailed step by step article to configure BSNL Broadband
Settings for ITI DNA Modem/Router. Although bsnl modem settings are
already configured by bsnl department but in some cases you need to configure
ITI DNA modem settings at your own. BSNL the major broadband internet
player in India provides ITI DNA modems to new customers.
Earlier we have written a post about TP Link
wi-fi modem settings for bsnl broadband. This post helped our readers to
configure their TP Link modems for bsnl broadband. Our readers also demanded to
write an article about ITI DNA modem settings configuration.
As BSNL provides ITI DNA modem by default to all new
subscribers. Due to this, most of bsnl broadband subscribers will be using ITI
DNA modems/routers. So I have decided to publish a article about configuration
of ITI DNA modems settings for Bsnl broadband to help our valuable readers.
Here I will explain detailed steps to configure BSNL broadband settings for ITI
DNA modem/router over Ethernet which also called always on broadband connection
as given below: -
BSNL Broadband Settings Configuration
Firstly connect bsnl ADSL phone line to your ITI DNA modem.
Also connect your computer to modem. Its DSL indicator will become stable after
some.
When DSL indicator becomes stable, open any web browser and
type URLhttp://192.168.1.1 in address bar. It will prompt for
authentication. Put username and password both as admin.
You will be logged in to ITI DNA modem/router settings page.
Go to Advanced Setup >> WAN.
Select all the protocols except one named PPPoE and remove
them. Click on Edit in PPPoE protocol. Make settings as ATM PVC Configuration
PORT- 0
VPI- 0
VCI- 35
Uncheck Enable VLAN Tagging service category as UBR Without PCR
Uncheck Enable Quality of Service
Press Next
VPI- 0
VCI- 35
Uncheck Enable VLAN Tagging service category as UBR Without PCR
Uncheck Enable Quality of Service
Press Next
Select connect type as PPP over Ethernet (PPPoE) and
Encapsulation Mode as LLC/SNAP-BRIDGING and press Next.
Make other settings as shown in below image and press Next.
Make Network Address Translation Settings as
Check Enable NAT
Check Enable Firewall
Uncheck Enable IGMP Multicast
Check WAN Service
Put service name as pppoe_0_35_1 and press Next.
Check Enable Firewall
Uncheck Enable IGMP Multicast
Check WAN Service
Put service name as pppoe_0_35_1 and press Next.
Lastly you will see WAN setup summary. Press Save.
Go to Advanced Setup >> LAN
Make settings as IP Address 192.168.1.1
Subnet Mask 255.255.255.0
Check Enable IGMP Snooping
Select Blocking mode
Select Enable DHCP Server
Start IP Address 192.168.1.1
End IP Address 192.168.1.10
Subnet Mask 255.255.255.0
Leased Time (hour) 24
Uncheck Configure the second IP Address and Subnet Mask for LAN interface option and hit Save
Subnet Mask 255.255.255.0
Check Enable IGMP Snooping
Select Blocking mode
Select Enable DHCP Server
Start IP Address 192.168.1.1
End IP Address 192.168.1.10
Subnet Mask 255.255.255.0
Leased Time (hour) 24
Uncheck Configure the second IP Address and Subnet Mask for LAN interface option and hit Save
Keep Advanced Setup >> NAT, Security settings intact.
Go to Advanced Setup >> Quality of service
Check option Enable QoS
Select Default DSCP Mark as No Change (-1) and Save changes.
Don’t change anything in Queue Config and QoS classification
Select Default DSCP Mark as No Change (-1) and Save changes.
Don’t change anything in Queue Config and QoS classification
Go to Advanced Setup >> Routing >> Default
Gateway
Check the option Enable Automatic Assigned Default Gateway
and save the changes. Don’t change anything in Static Route, IPv6 Default
Gateway, IPv6 Static Route.
Go to Advanced Setup >> DNS >> DNS Server
Check the option named Enable Automatic Assigned DNS and
save the changes.
Go to Advanced Setup >> DSL
Check the options
G.Dmt Enabled
G.lite Enabled
T1.413 Enabled
ADSL2 Enabled
AnnexL Enabled
ADSL2+ Enabled
Uncheck AnnexM Enabled
Select phone line pair as Inner pair
Capability as Bitwap Enable and save the Changes.
G.Dmt Enabled
G.lite Enabled
T1.413 Enabled
ADSL2 Enabled
AnnexL Enabled
ADSL2+ Enabled
Uncheck AnnexM Enabled
Select phone line pair as Inner pair
Capability as Bitwap Enable and save the Changes.
Go to Advanced Setup >> IPv6
Check the option Enable IPv6 and Click on Save and
Reboot.
Now you have successfully configured your ITI DNA
modem/router for BSNL broadband.
Now go to control panel on your computer and right click on
this connection.
Go to Properties >> Double click Internet Protocol
Version 4 (TCP/IPv4).
Put the values as shown in below image. Lastly Press OK.
Extra Trick: – Sometimes your computer shows two connections
in Network connections for the same broadband connection. One connection will
be named as Network and other as Unidentified Network. If your broadband
connection is divided in two networks, you will be not able to access internet
on your computer. To overcome this problem, Go to Network Connections and right
click on Local Area Connection >> Disable.
Again right click on Local Area Connection >> Enable.
The two divided network connections will be merged with each other.
Now you have successfully configured BSNL broadband settings
on your ITI DNA modem/router. You will see stable Internet indicator along with
DSL indicator on your ITI DNA modem/router. Open any webpage on your computer.
You will be able to access internet on your computer through BSNL broadband at
high speeds.
