The Gear 2 smartwatch betters its predecessor with a heart rate sensor and 720p video capture, while the Gear Fit keeps a strict focus on your health.
Samsung has officially peeled off the prices for two of its
upcoming wearable devices.
The Gear 2 smartwatch will sell for $295, Samsung announced
in Taiwan on Wednesday, according to Sammobile and other sources. That's but a
slight drop from the $300 retail price of the original Gear. And the new Gear
Fit fitness band will cost $197.
Samsung announced both products at Mobile World Congress
last month. The Gear 2 offers a few new features over its predecessor,
including a heart rate sensor, longer battery life, and 720p video capture. The
Fit is a new product that focuses more on the health and fitness aspects of a
wearable device.
Also new to Samsung's lineup is the Gear 2 Neo, a lighter
version of the Gear 2 that strips out the camera. Samsung didn't reveal the
price of the Neo, but The Korea Herald expects it to sell for around $250.
All three devices are due to reach consumers on April 11.
