There are a few ways to do this.
Set Chrome Default While Downloading The App
When you are downloading the Chrome App for Windows 8, you will have a check box asking if you want to set Chrome as default on your Windows 8 computer. If you have this checked, Chrome will be your default browser when download is complete.
Easy, effortless!
After Installation – While Using Chrome
When you start using Chrome, there will be small yellow bar on the top asking if you want to set Chrome as your default browser. Click on “Set as default” to get Chrome set as your default browser.
Easy isn’t it?
From Chrome Settings
You can go to settings on Chrome, (click settings icon or open chrome://settings) and look for “Default Browser” Click “Make Chrome my default browser” and you are done!
Another easy method!!
From Windows 8 Settings
Now, here is one more method, this one is using Windows 8 settings.
- Open Control Panel > Programs > Default Programs > Set Default Programs.
- Select Google Chrome from the list “Programs”
- Click Set this program as default
- Click Ok
Done!
